Holmfirth is about 8 miles south of Huddersfield: the location for ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ it has relaxed eateries, numberous watering holes and some beautiful walks.
If you are travelling by car I would suggest you park in the Co-op car park [£4 for the day] & the studio is approx 100m along the street towards the centre of Holmfirth, the studio is on the first floor [above the womens wear/Rowan yarn shop: UP COUNTRY].
Buses: the 313 & 314 [at weekends try the 951 leaving from stand A] leave Huddersfield bus station at regular intervals & it take about 40/45 minutes.
Here are just a few of the Holmfirth accomodation options:
- Blue Door B&B: Run by fellow creatives Sue and Richard, both well known ceramicists
- Sunny Bank Guest House: an elegant retreat; just a short walk to the centre of Holmfirth
- The Old Bridge: it’s right in the centre of Holmfirth and literally back to back with the studio – you won’t get any closer. They have their own small car park too, so it’s a very handy option.
